1. Soup.io – well-known alternative to Tumblr. Reblogging, post types, themes, collab blogs, dashboard, artsy, great community already there. Soup can auto-import everything you’ve posted on Tumblr.
2. TypePad – Includes reblogging. Dashboard and post types similar to Tumblr.
3. Jux – Artful posts, beautiful blogging experience

1. jux shut down in 2016, it’s no longer an option
2. soup.io is still working, but sometimes goes down for unscheduled maintenance like it has right now
3. typepad  is subscription based. you cant use it for free
4. mastodon.social is somewhat like twitter, but describes itself as a “decentralized, open source social network”
5. there is a free to use version of wordpress for long form blogging
6. wix is free to use and can be used to create blogs or portfolios

when you google “alternatives to tumblr” a lot of the sites you find are going to be subscription based and you will need to pay to keep your stuff there indefinitely. pay attention to what you’re reading.
